Good Memories // Swimming with Sharks

Sometimes, I like to go through photos to remember some good memories. As I am a photographer, I hoard my photos and appreciate every single one that I take. So, I thought maybe I would make this whole "good memories" post a frequent thing. Maybe? We'll see.

So, back in February for reading week my family and I went to Florida for the first time. My family was always the ones that did multiple day trips or overnight stays near around where we lived. Mostly because I have siblings who are quite young. But this year we decided to take a trip that was a little more extravagant. So to Florida we went and did the typical Disney Land extravaganza! No judgement, I have always wanted to go as a kid.
There, I found a new love for water parks. Before I would hate to set foot in one. I just grossed out by the bare feet touching everything and I don't particularly like walking around in my bathing suit. But then there was this tank of tropical fish, sharks and stingrays. I told myself "Maria, this is your time to try something new!" So, I did. I hopped into this freezing cold water, with my ridiculous snorkel and had one of the best times. Some of you might be reading this thinking that it's not "that" cool. But I really don't get out much, so for me it was awesome!
As a photographer as well, I had to buy an underwater disposable film camera for this. But unfortunately there are no shots of the actual sharks because none turned out. So, you'll just have to take my word for it.
Good times, good times.

Top Ten // Summer Essentials

I have been devoted to these top ten things this summer. Every day you will see me with all of these items in one way or another.
First, in the summer, a bathing suit is a must. Especially living next to the beach! The weird part is though, that I only own maybe two suits. The second and third items are a crop top and high wasted shorts! I think these are the go-to clothing pieces of the summer. If I had room in this top ten post, I would have also included maxi skirts! Have you seen on Pinterest the little sayings that reads something like maxi skirts are crotchless yoga pants for women. Just meaning that they are just the most comfortable things to wear, but adds some class to your every day look. Fourth, the wide rim sun hat is a necessity! My face burns super easily so if I go out, so does the hat. Fifth, I never ever ever leave without my sunglasses. Mostly because if you are wearing makeup and end up going swimming, your makeup will be running all over your eyes and the sunglasses are a perfect accessory to hide that embarrassing factor. I mean, I of course use them to block out the sun as well! Sixth item in the top ten is any colour of Essie nail polish! I have found a bunch of nice bright colours on sale and have been using them all summer! Seventh, Eos lip balm, I think that's pretty explanatory, its a miracle worker on the lips. Eighth is sandals! Ardenes is constantly having sales on their shoes and I pick up a pair almost every time I walk in there. I'm obsessed. Oh well. Anyways, for the ninth item, it is a mason jar. I use mason jars for everything! I have cup ones, where I take to the beach with a fruity drink, then I have normal mason jars and I use them for salads, smoothies, storing food, and so many other things. I just love them because they have such a secure lid on them. And finally, for my tenth item, it would be a handy backpack. I love backpacks because they are a lot easier to carry around when you are walking around and they have a bunch of room. Which I would need for my wallet, camera, and the candy wrappers I store at the bottom of the bag..yikes.

Collaboration & Lookbook // Cassandra

This was honestly the funnest collaboration!
Cassandra is the writer of {The High-Life} Fashion blog and her and I live in the same area. Knowing that we were both bloggers, we decided to work together on a new blog post!

We combined our styles of clothing and blogging to create something new and interesting!

Summer Pineapple Juice

I made these a while ago but I didn't want to post them until I had some of my friends try them out to tell me if they were actually okay to drink. I mean, I though they were good, but when it comes to food that I make I become very bias.
After a few sips, the girls told me that they tasted good and that they feel like it tastes like summer.

Ingredients:
40 Ounces of Pineapple Juice
♥ 4 Tbsp of Lime Juice
♥ 4 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
♥ 4 Tbsp of Sugar
♥ Whip Cream

Put the pineapple, lime and lemon juice in the blender. Squirt a handful of whip cream into the mix, then blend until the whip cream has blended in with the juices. Pour into glasses then danish with whip cream on top. That's it!
It's so simple!

Outfit Inspiration // Faced with Indie

As I was looking for pieces of clothing for this blog post, I had an indie feel in mind. But then, I saw this skirt! This is such an interesting item I just HAD to use it. I took the skirt and made the indie theme follow around it.
I would wear this outfit in a heartbeat. It seems to be more of a summer lunch out look. My favourite pieces in this outfit though is definitely the skirt and the shoes. I've always wanted to own a pair like these, but where can you find an affordable find? That's my only problem.

You can find the links to all of the items above, listed below:
